Invited Artist in Residence John Griefen

John Adams GriefenJohn Griefen

John Adams Griefen is an abstract painter with works in the permanent collections of the Hirschhorn Museum and Sculpture Garden, the Metropolitan Museum, The Whitney Museum of American Art, the Boston Museum of Fine Arts, and the New York Public Library. He has had 35 one-person exhibitions at commercial galleries throughout the U.S., including New York City, Chicago, Boston, Miami, and Washington, D.C.; and abroad in Berlin, Lisbon, and Sidney, Australia. His book, VOIR DIRE MALSTROM, is owned by Harvard University, the New York Public Library and New York University. He has been featured in articles in Art in America, Arts Magazine, Partisan Review and The New York Times, among others, and in Kenworth Moffets' book, "The New Generation: A Curator's Choice." He is represented internationally by Salander-O'Reilly Galleries.
