Campus Rules

The following policies are in place for the security, safety and comfort of all our valued customers. Please note that all rules and regulations are subject to change as required.

  • Always respect the forest and lake!
  • Say hello to everyone you meet!
  • Check-in is from 4 p.m. until 5:30 p.m.
  • Check-out - Guests are asked to vacate their cabins by 11:00 a.m. on the last day of the program to ensure access for Housekeeping staff.
  • Meal times are: Breakfast 8 a.m.; Lunch 12 Noon; Supper 5 p.m.
  • Quiet time is 11:00 p.m.
  • No Pets Allowed - To preserve the atmosphere and environment, pets are not allowed at the Campus with the exception of dogs used in the assistance of the disabled.
  • Children under the age of 17 must be supervised at all times.
  • Smoking is prohibited in all indoor public spaces, and all accommodation units and cabins with the exception of cabins 8 and 11 that have been designated as 'smoking permitted.' Smoking is allowed in designated areas, in private cabins only if all occupants concur, and in open air areas. Please use ashtrays and designated containers for butts. Please do not discard butts on the forest floor, beach area, parking lot or pathways.
  • Fire regulations do not permit the use of hot plates or any food preparation equipment in cabins.
  • Open fires are not allowed. An environmentally friendly, protective "fire ring" is available on the beach to use for open fires with the approval of the campus management and is dependent upon forest fire conditions.
  • Organizations booking campus facilities are solely responsible for costs incurred as a result of loss or damage to Emma Lake Kenderdine Campus property caused by their participants or activities.
  • Individuals involved in disorderly conduct that can potentially cause bodily harm or damage to campus or personal property or that which may effect the use of the site by other user groups or participants or that which may cause unacceptable distress to neighbouring Okema Beach cabin owners will be evicted from the campus grounds.
  • Swimming, canoeing and boating is entirely at a person's own risk. Emma lake Kenderdine Campus provides NO lifeguards or other supervision regarding any water-related activities.
  • Alcoholic beverages are available for purchase and consumption in the dining hall and designated licensed areas. The consumption of personal alcoholic beverages is restricted to private cabins.
  • All campus fees are to be paid upon receipt of invoice.
  • Power boats are not allowed access to the Emma Lake Kenderdine Campus dock or beach area without the permission of the campus director.
  • Using personal water crafts and/or water-skiing from the dock or beach area is not allowed.
  • Vehicular traffic on the campus is restricted. Guests must park in the designated parking lot and enter the campus on foot, taking care to use only the footpaths.
  • Cabin relocation requests are handled at the discretion of the management. A service charge will apply.
